PGA Award 2022 - le nomination

Annunciate le nomination ai PGA Award 2022, i premi del sindacato dei produttori cinematografici e televisivi, uno dei più rilevanti in chiave Academy Awards, molto spesso infatti il film vincitore del PGA si ripete poi anche nella notte degli Oscar.

Nella rosa dei dieci candidati come miglior film ci sono tutti i titoli più forti della stagione, a cui si è aggiunto, in modo inatteso, il bel film di Aaron Sorkin Being the Ricardos.

Sono rimasti fuori invece, alcuni titoli molto chiacchierati e "spinti" dalla stampa, come House of Gucci, altri acclamati dalla critica, come The Tragedy of Macbeth, Nightmare Alley, e The Lost Daughter, e anche il più grande incasso della stagione, cioè Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Nei cinque candidati per il miglior film d'animazione, ben tre sono firmati dalla Disney, uno di questi, Luca dell'italiano Enrico Casarosa, in collaborazione con la Pixar.

Rita Moreno riceverà lo Stanley Kramer Award, mentre George Lucas e Kathleen Kennedy saranno premiati con il Milestone Award.

La premiazione si terrà il 19 marzo, poco prima degli Oscar. Ecco tutte le nomination di Cinema e TV.

PGA Awards 2020 - è 1917 il miglior film

Sono state assegnati ieri i PGA Awards 2020, che hanno visto trionfare il film 1917.

Già vincitore del Golden Globes come migliore film drama, il war movie di Sam Mendes si porta a casa anche il premio come miglior film della Producers Guild of America, il sindacato dei produttori, consolidando il proprio ruolo di favorito per la notte degli Oscar 2020.

I PGA infatti sono estremamente indicativi in chiave Adacemy Awards, per 21 volte su 30 il vincitore di questo premio si è poi ripetuto agli Oscar vincendo la statuetta come miglior film.

Come migliore film d'animazione, in controtendenza rispetto ai Golden Globes, è stato premiato Toy Story 4, mentre Apollo 11 è il miglior documentario.

DGA & PGA Awards - le nomination

I Golden Globes sono stati consegnati, manca un mese alla cerimonia degli Oscar, la stagione dei premi è più calda che mai.

Annunciate le nomination ai DGA (Directors Guild Awards), il premio del sindacato dei registi, e il PGA (Producers Guild Awards), il premio del sindacato dei produttori. Due premi importanti e molto influenti in chiave Oscar.

La cinquina  dei registi dei DGA spesso è la stessa degli Academy Awards. Si fa notare l'assenza di Todd Phillips, che in queste settimane molti avevano indicato come favorito per la vittoria dell'Oscar ma nonostante la sua mancata candidatura, il regista potrebbe comunque rientrare nella cinquina degli Academy Awards.

Ancora più significative sono le nomination dei PGA, infatti nella maggior parte dei casi, la rosa di film candidata a questo premio si ripete nella categoria miglior film agli Oscar. Negli ultimi 30 anni, per 21 volte il vincitore del PGA ha poi vinto anche l'Oscar come miglior film.

Da sottolineare la presenza di Parasite, un risultato importante per un film coreano che sicuramente concorrerà per l'Oscar come miglior film straniero, ma che sta dimostrando di poter andare anche oltre quella categoria.

I vincitori del DGA saranno annunciati il 25 gennaio, quelli dei PGA il 3 febbraio.

PGA Awards 2019 - le nomination

In attesa dei Golden Globe di domani notte, sono state annunciate le nomination ai PGA Awards 2019, i Producers Guild Awards, premi del sindacato dei produttori.

Si tratta di un premio molto influente in ottica Academy Awards, spesso infatti chi vince il PGA, poi trionfa anche nella notte degli Oscar, è successo 20 volte in 29 anni. Per questo le illustri esclusioni di quest'anno lasciano un po' perplessi.

Se da una parte fa molto piacere vedere A Quiet Place tra i nominati, dall'altra non possiamo non chiederci come sia possibile non nominare un film come First Man. L'avversione verso il bellissimo film di Chazelle è qualcosa che onestamente si fatica a comprendere.

The Shape of Water è il miglior film ai PGA Awards

Sono stati consegnati ieri i Producers Guild of America Awards, i premi assegnati dall'associazione dei produttori.

A vincere è stato La Forma dell'Acqua (The Shape of Water) di Guillermo del Toro. Un riconoscimento molto importante grazie al quale il regista messicano mette (ipoteticamente) una mano sull'Oscar 2018 come miglior film.

Attenzione però, i PGA sono molto importanti in vista degli Academy Awards ma negli ultimi due anni i film che hanno vinto questo premio, La Grande Scommessa e La La Land, non si sono poi ripetuti agli Oscar.
Al momento comunque, grazie a questo premio e al Critics' Choice Awards ricevuto qualche giorno fa, il film di Del Toro si attesta come favorito per la notte degli Oscar.

Consegnati anche i premi per la tv con The Handmaid’s Tale che ha battuto Big Little Lies come serie dell'anno.

PGA Awards 2018 - le nomination

Annunciate le nomination per i Producers Guild of America Awards, premi assegnati dal sindacato dei produttori e decisamente indicativi in chiave Oscar.

Di solito il vincitore dei PGA ha poi vinto l'Oscar come miglior film, anche se negli ultimi due anni questo non è successo. Sicuramente i film nominati ai Producers Guild Awards hanno buone probabilità di finire tra i dieci (circa) nominati per l'Oscar come miglior film.

Proprio per questo motivo spicca la presenza di Wonder Woman, un cinecomic, mentre per la prima volta tra i nominati rientra Molly's Game, debutto alla regia di Aaron Sorkin.

Non è una novità ma fa comunque piacere vedere Call Me By Your Name tra i nominati, il film di Luca Guadagnino al momento è sicuramente uno dei favoriti, anche per gli Oscar.

I nominati ai PGA 2014

Sono stati annunciati ieri i nominati ai Producers Guild Awards 2014, di solito molto indicativi sui film nominati (e i vincitori) degli Oscar.

Poche sorprese, nella lista dei dieci candidati come miglior film ci sono tutti i principali titoli della stagione, da notare però come a mancare siano i film prodotti da Harvey Weinstein, soprattutto 'The Butler' di Lee Daniels e 'Inside Llewyn Davis' dei fratelli Coen.
Le polemiche sulle tantissime parolacce presenti in 'The Wolf of Wall Street' di Scorsese, in cui la parola "fuck" viene ripetuta più di 500 volte, non hanno influito sulla scelta, il film è rientrato fra i candidati principali.

Le nomination dei PGA e ADG Awards 2013

Sono state rese note le nomination dei Producers Guild of America, l'associazione dei produttori americani, e dell'Art Directors Guild, il sindacato degli scenografi.

I PGA sono considerato tra i principali indicatori per le nomination agli Oscar, anche se non sempre sono affidabili.

Tra i nominati troviamo tutti i titoli dei favoriti per l'Oscar, 'Lincoln' di Spielberg, 'Zero Dark Thirty' di Kathryn Bigelow, 'Les Misérables' di Tom Hooper. Un po' a sorpresa, spunta anche 'Skyfall' che a questo punto potrebbe seriamente puntare ad una nomination come miglior film ai prossimi Oscar. Va ricordato però che i film nominati all'Oscar non saranno necessariamente dieci, possono variare da 5 a 10.

Nessuna sorpresa fra i film d'animazione, presenti tutti i migliori titoli della stagione, molto presente la Disney con 'Frankenweenie', 'Ralph Spaccatutto' e insieme alla Pixar per 'Brave'.

Anche qui sono presenti i titoli principali ma stupisce l'assenza di due titoli importanti come 'Moonrise Kingdom' di Wes Anderson (meritava molto invece) e 'The Master' di Paul Thomas Anderson.

Nella categoria fantasy rientra un po' a sorpresa 'Cloud Atlas', fino ad oggi preso poco in considerazione per i premi, mentre in quella dei film contemporanei spunta 'Marigold Hotel'.
