The Shape of Water è il miglior film ai PGA Awards

Sono stati consegnati ieri i Producers Guild of America Awards, i premi assegnati dall'associazione dei produttori.

A vincere è stato La Forma dell'Acqua (The Shape of Water) di Guillermo del Toro. Un riconoscimento molto importante grazie al quale il regista messicano mette (ipoteticamente) una mano sull'Oscar 2018 come miglior film.

Attenzione però, i PGA sono molto importanti in vista degli Academy Awards ma negli ultimi due anni i film che hanno vinto questo premio, La Grande Scommessa e La La Land, non si sono poi ripetuti agli Oscar.
Al momento comunque, grazie a questo premio e al Critics' Choice Awards ricevuto qualche giorno fa, il film di Del Toro si attesta come favorito per la notte degli Oscar.

Consegnati anche i premi per la tv con The Handmaid’s Tale che ha battuto Big Little Lies come serie dell'anno.

Critics' Choice Awards - trionfo per The Shape of Water, Big Little Lies e The Handmaid’s Tale

Si è svolta la 23a edizione dei Critics’ Choice Awards, premi assegnati dalla Broadcast Film Critics Association, la più grande organizzazioni di critici di USA e Canada.

A trionfare è stato Guillermo del Toro con il suo The Shape of Water, che si è portato a casa quattro premi, tra cui miglior film e regia.

Nelle categorie degli attori, confermati i quattro vincitori dei Golden Globe, Frances McDormand (Tre Manifesti a Ebbing, Missouri) e Gary Oldman (L'ora più Buia) migliori attori protagonisti, Sam Rockwell (Tre Manifesti a Ebbing, Missouri) e Allison Janney (I, Tonya) migliori attori non protagonisti.

Premiati anche James Franco (The Disaster Artist) e Margot Robbie (I, Tonya) come migliori attori di commedia.

Premio per la migliore sceneggiatura per Chiamami col Tuo Nome.

I Critics' Choice Awards sono moderatamente indicativi in chiave Academy Awards, non sempre chi ha vinto poi si è ripetuto agli Oscar, ma danno un idea dei titoli forti e gli attori che molto probabilmente saranno protagonisti della stagione dei premi.

Per la tv si riconfermano le serie che hanno trionfato ai Golden Globe, The Handmaid's Tale, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel e, ovviamente, Big Little Lies, che ha davvero dominato nelle categorie delle miniserie.

Golden Globes 2018 - trionfo per Tre Manifesti a Ebbing, Missouri e Lady Bird

La 75a edizione dei Golden Globe è stata sicuramente diversa rispetto alle precedenti, prima di tutto è stata teatro di una protesta che ha coinvolto tutti, le attrici, gli attori, registi e produttori presenti, la totalità dei partecipanti si è spesa per la causa Time's Up, contro le violenze e gli abusi e contro la discriminazione di genere. Così il red carpet si è trasformato in un black carpet, un tripudio di vestiti neri, spille e adesivi con scritto Time's Up.

Il tema delle molestie sessuali ha poi coinvolto anche tutti i discorsi di ringraziamento dei vincitori, le presentazioni delle nomination, e anche il discorso di apertura del presentatore Seth Meyers, che non ha risparmiato esplicite frecciatine a Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey e, ovviamente, Trump.

Uno dei momenti clou della serata è stato senza dubbio il bellissimo discorso di Oprah Winfrey, premiata con il Cecil B.DeMille Award, il premio alla carriera.

Quello che si è visto ai Golden Globes ieri è stato un movimento unito, un fronte unico e compatto, sinceramente una bella immagine.

Altro fattore anomalo della serata è stato il tempo. La cerimonia è iniziata all'orario preciso ma stranamente è andata subito in ritardo, e quindi c'è stato pochissimo spazio per chi è salito sul palco, sia per il presentatore, praticamente scomparso dopo l'apertura, che per gli attori che dovevano introdurre le categorie, che per i vincitori, costretti a ritmi molto serrati.

Sorprese, conferme e qualche perplessità dai premi. Nonostante le buone chance della vigilia, ha spiazzato un po' tutti la vittoria del Golden Globe come migliore film drama di Tre Manifesti a Ebbing, Missouri, che si è portato a casa anche il premio per la migliore attrice drama (Frances McDormand), migliore attore non protagonista (Sam Rockwell), e migliore sceneggiatura. Exploit anche per Lady Bird, premiato come migliore film comedy/musical e per la migliore attrice comedy/musical (Saoirse Ronan). Grande soddisfazione anche per i premi a Gary Oldman come migliore attore drama per L'Ora Più Buia, Allison Janney per I, Tonya, e James Franco per The Disaster Artist.

Sorpresa anche per la categoria miglior film straniero, tutti si aspettavano la vittoria di The Square, e invece a portarsi a casa il premio è stato In the Fade di Fatih Akin.

Lascia qualche perplessità il premio per la colonna sonora a Alexandre Desplat (The Shape of Water), soprattutto perché è stato preferito a Hans Zimmer che in Dunkirk ha fatto davvero qualcosa di straordinario. Anche il premio per la migliore regia lascia qualche dubbio, non per la bravura del vincitore Guillermo del Toro (The Shape of Water) ma perché nella stessa categoria c'erano Spielberg, Scott, e Nolan.

Non sorprende affatto invece la vittoria di Coco come migliore film d'animazione. Ennesimo premio per la Disney / Pixar.

Una bella sorpresa infine è stato vedere sul palco una vera leggenda di Hollywood, Kirk Douglas, che dal'alto dei suoi 101 anni, insieme alla nuora Catherine Zeta Jones, ha consegnato il premio per la migliore sceneggiatura. Doppia soddisfazione per Martin McDonagh (Tre Manifesti a Ebbing, Missouri), vincere ed essere premiato da un mito.

Per quanto riguarda la tv, trionfo per Big Little Lies, che si è portato a casa 4 premi, per The Handmaid’s Tale (2 premi), e per The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2 premi).

Emmys 2017: tutti i vincitori

Si sono tenuti questa notte gli Emmy Awards, da molti considerati come gli Oscar della Televisione.
Nella cerimonia presentata da Stephen Colbert non sono certo mancate le sorprese (e le battute su Trump): a sbancare sono state due serie tutte al femminile, The Handmaid's Tale, tratto dal romanzo distopico di Margareth Atwood, e Big Little Lies. Particolarmente significativoè stato il discorso di ringraziamento di Nicole Kidman, migliore attrice protagonista in una miniserie, che,visibilmente emozionata, ha parlato di violenza domestica e abusi sulle donne.
Per quanto riguarda le comedy, a farla da padrone è Donald Glover, il primo afroamericano a vincere un premio per la regia in una commedia, che fa doppietta e si porta a casa anche il premio come miglior attore protagonista.
