Nei cinque candidati per il miglior film d'animazione, ben tre sono firmati dalla Disney, uno di questi, Luca dell'italiano Enrico Casarosa, in collaborazione con la Pixar.
Rita Moreno riceverà lo Stanley Kramer Award, mentre George Lucas e Kathleen Kennedy saranno premiati con il Milestone Award.
