Oscar 2018 - trionfa 'The Shape of Water'. Ecco tutti i vincitori.

Si sono tenuti nella notte i 90esimi Academy Awards. La serata, presentata ancora una volta da Jimmy Kimmel, è stata meno spumeggiante degli altri anni, più sobria e (incredibilmente) anche più rapida grazie all'introduzione di un tempo massimo per i ringraziamenti, su cui Kimmel ha scherzato molto durante la serata promettendo una moto d'acqua in premio al più veloce. Tra le note più positive, sicuramente i mix video che hanno ricordato questi 90 anni di film e interpretazioni, belli ed emozionanti.

Nelle ultime settimane sembrava che le carte si fossero rimescolate e invece, come da pronostico, a vincere è stato The Shape of Water di Guillermo del Toro, che si è portato a casa anche il premio per la migliore regia. In tutto il film ha vinto 4 premi risultando il più premiato della serata.

Pronostici rispettati anche per i quattro attori, sono stati premiati quelli che in questa stagione dei premi hanno vinto praticamente tutto. Finalmente Gary Oldman (L'ora più Buia) ha vinto il suo Oscar come migliore attore, quello per migliore attrice è andato ovviamente Frances McDormand (Tre Manifesti a Ebbing, Missouri), protagonista del discorso più trascinante della serata. I migliori attori non protagonisti sono stati Allison Janney (I, Tonya) e Sam Rockwell (Tre Manifesti a Ebbing, Missouri). Tutti e quattro sono Oscar più che meritati.

Un po' di gloria anche per l'Italia, con Chiamami col tuo Nome che si è portato a casa l'Oscar per la migliore sceneggiatura non originale, andato al veterano James Ivory, da oggi il più anziano mai premiato. Piccola sorpresa, ma non più di tanto, l'Oscar per la migliore sceneggiatura originale a Get Out.
Non solo del Toro, il Messico è stato grande protagonista della serata anche grazie al miglior film d'animazione, che è andato - manco a dirlo - a Coco della Disney/Pixar, che si è preso anche il premio per la migliore canzone. In sud America anche l'Oscar per il miglior film, andato al cileno Una Donna Fantastica.
Fra i premi tecnici hanno trovato gloria Dunkirk e anche Blade Runner 2049.

La protesta dei movimenti Time's Up e #MeToo c'è stata ma in modo più lieve rispetto ai Golden Globe e i BAFTA. Jimmy Kimmel ne ha parlato apertamente nel monologo d'apertura, molte attrici ne hanno parlato dal palco, ma i momenti più significativi sono stati due: il discorso di ringraziamento di Frances McDormand che ha invitato tutte le donne nominate ad alzarsi in piedi (la prima a rispondere è stata Meryl Streep) per condividere quel momento di gloria insieme a lei, e poi la presenza sul palco di Ashley Judd, Annabella Sciorra e Salma Hayek, tre delle grandi accusatrici di Harvey Weinstein, insieme per dire basta alle molestie e alla disparità di trattamento.
C'è stato anche un momento storico in questa edizione, Daniela Vega, protagonista del premiato Una Donna Fantastica, è stata la prima transgender a presentare un premio sul palco degli Oscar.

Oscar 2018 - le nomination!

Sono state appena annunciate le nomination agli Oscar 2018. Una presentazione delle nomination diversa dagli altri anni, con dei video introduttivi che vedevano protagoniste alcune attrici (Gal Gadot, Salma Hayek, Zoe Saldana, Michelle Yeoh, ecc) davvero ben fatti e divertenti.

Poche sorprese, si confermano i nomi e i titoli che fino ad oggi sono stati protagonisti di questa stagione dei premi.
Sono nove i titoli candidati nella categoria miglior film, con The Shape of Water di Guillermo del Toro che conquista ben 13 nomination, anche se stranamente manca quella nella categoria miglior trucco.

Da sottolineare la 51esima nomination per John Williams, candidato per la colonna sonora di Star Wars: The Last Jedi, e la nomination numero 21 per Meryl Streep, nella cinquina delle migliori attrici protagoniste grazie alla sua performance nel film The Post. Nomination come migliore attore anche per Daniel Day-Lewis, per la sua interpretazione nel film Il Filo Nascosto, ultimo film prima dell'annunciato ritiro.
Prima nomination per Greta Gerwig per la regia di Lady Bird, rientra così nelle pochissime donne (con lei sono cinque in tutto) nominate nella storia nella categoria per la migliore regia. Nella stessa categoria, decisamente spiazzante l'assenza di Martin McDonagh per Tre Manifesti a Ebbing, Missouri.
Mudbound è il primo film prodotto da Netflix a ricevere delle nomination agli Oscar.

BAFTA 2018 - le nomination

Annunciate poco fa le nomination ai BAFTA 2018, assegnati dalla British Adacemy of Film and Television Arts, comunemente denominati gli "Oscar inglesi".

Presenti tutti i titoli "caldi" della stagione più qualche novità, come le candidature per Annette Bening e Jamie Bell per il film Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool.
Spiccano le 12 nomination di The Shape of Water, il più nominato di questa edizione, a seguire Tre Manifesti a Ebbing, Missouri con nove nomination, e otto per Dunkirk.

Quattro nomination anche per Chiamami col Tuo Nome di Luca Guadagnino, che si è preso anche una candidatura per la migliore regia.

PGA Awards 2018 - le nomination

Annunciate le nomination per i Producers Guild of America Awards, premi assegnati dal sindacato dei produttori e decisamente indicativi in chiave Oscar.

Di solito il vincitore dei PGA ha poi vinto l'Oscar come miglior film, anche se negli ultimi due anni questo non è successo. Sicuramente i film nominati ai Producers Guild Awards hanno buone probabilità di finire tra i dieci (circa) nominati per l'Oscar come miglior film.

Proprio per questo motivo spicca la presenza di Wonder Woman, un cinecomic, mentre per la prima volta tra i nominati rientra Molly's Game, debutto alla regia di Aaron Sorkin.

Non è una novità ma fa comunque piacere vedere Call Me By Your Name tra i nominati, il film di Luca Guadagnino al momento è sicuramente uno dei favoriti, anche per gli Oscar.

Golden Globe 2018 - le nomination

Rivelate poco fa le nomination ai Golden Globe 2018. Più o meno sono stati rispettati tutti i pronostici, sia per il Cinema che per la Tv.

C'è un po' d'Italia. Luca Guadagnino con il suo Chiamami col Tuo Nome si è guadagnato una nomination per il miglio film drama, andando ad affiancare i maggiori titoli della stagione, The Post di Spielberg, Dunkirk di Nolan, The Shape of Water di Del Toro e Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri di McDonagh.
Tra le commedie spicca Get Out, soprattutto perché è un horror che si è dovuto trasferire tra le commedie per trovare spazio ed ottenere una nomination, ma la sfida è aperta con I, Tonya, Lady Bird, il musical The Greatest Showman, e The Disaster Artist di James Franco.

La cinquina dei registi nominati è quasi la stessa, con Ridley Scott (Tutti i Soldi del Mondo) al posto di Guadagnino. Scott che, ricordiamo, ha dovuto compiere un mezzo miracolo rigirando e sostituendo tutte le scene di Kevin Spacey (tagliato dal film) con Christopher Plummer, e l'attore si è anche guadagnato una nomination come migliore attore non protagonista. Il film ha ottenuto anche la nomination per la migliore attrice drama (Michelle Williams).

Interessanti le cinquine degli attori. Se in quella delle migliori attrici comedy/musical la sfida sembra tra Margot Robbie (I, Tonya) e Saoirse Ronan (Lady Bird), nella sezione drama c'è più battaglia, anche se la favorita resta (come sempre) Meryl Streep per The Post. Da sottolineare la nomination nella cinquina comedy a Helen Mirren per il film The Leisure Seeker di Virzì.
Per gli uomini, al momento non sembra esserci un vero favorito nella sezione comedy, con James Franco che potrebbe portarsi a casa un premio per il suo apprezzato The Disaster Artist, mentre nella cinquina drama è curiosa la sfida tra quattro colonne del Cinema come Daniel Day-Lewis (Il Filo Nascosto), Denzel Washington (Roman J. Israel, Esq.), Tom Hanks (The Post), Gary Oldman (L'Ora Più Buia), e il giovane Timothée Chalamet (Chiamami col tuo Nome). Oldman comunque sembra il favorito.

Tra i film d'animazione, Coco della Pixar è il favorito. Niente Italia tra i film stranieri.

Per la tv, tante nomination per Big Little Lies (praticamente tutto il cast), bene anche The Handmaid's Tale, Fargo e Stranger Things.
Jude Law si è meritato una nomination come migliore attore in una minisere/film tv per The Young Pope di Sorrentino. Solo una nomination per Twin Peaks, quella come migliore attore di miniserie/film tv per Kyle MacLachlan.

La cerimonia di premiazione si terrà il 7 gennaio.

Dunkirk: nuove foto dal set del film di Christopher Nolan!

Le riprese di Dunkirk, film sulla Seconda Guerra Mondiale diretto da Christopher Nolan, sono iniziate da qualche giorno, e il regista fa le cose in grande.

Nuove foto dal set mostrano un imponente schieramento di quasi 5.000 comparse vestite da soldati, tutti schierati sulla spiaggia, oltre ad alcuni cannoni per la contraerea, mentre a largo si muovono navi da guerra e in cielo aerei da combattimento.

Il film racconterà la drammatica Battaglia di Dunkerque, nel nord della Francia, e la miracolosa evacuazione di circa 400mila soldati dalla spiaggia.

Nel cast Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, Cillian Murphy, James D’Arcy, e Tom Hardy, oltre i giovani e (semi) esordienti Fionn Whitehead, Jack Lowden, Aneurin Barnard, e Harry Styles (uno dei cantanti degli One Direction).

Uscita fissata al 21 luglio 2017.
