BAFTAs 2015: i vincitori

Si sono tenuti questa sera i BAFTA, i premi assegnati dalla British Academy of Films and Television Arts.
A farla da padrone, soprattutto nelle categorie tecniche, è Grand Budapest Hotel, che si porta a casa anche il premio alla sceneggiatura, mentre nelle categorie principali Boyhood conquista sia Miglior Regia che Miglior Film, confermandosi ancora una volta grandissimo favorito nella corsa agli Oscar.
Poche sorprese per gli attori, in cui vincono Patricia Arquette e J.K.Simmons tra i non protagonisti e Julianne Moore e Eddie Redmayne (visibilmente emozionato) nella categoria dei protagonisti.
Sorprendentemente a secco invece Birdman, che riesce a conquistare solo il premio alla miglior fotografia.

Critics’ Choice Awards 2015: Boyhood miglior film dell'anno

Si sono tenuti ieri sera i Critics’ Choice Awards 2015, con i critici di varie testate giornalistiche che si sono espressi sui migliori film dell'anno.

A trionfare è stato Boyhood di Richard Linklater, che si porta a casa quattro premi, miglior film, regia, attore emergente (Ellar Coltrane) e attrice non protagonista (Patricia Arquette).
Negli ultimi 15 anni, per 12 volte il vincitore dei Critics’ Choice Awards ha poi vinto anche l'Oscar.

Conferme per quanto riguarda il migliore attore e la migliore attrice protagonista, premi per Michael Keaton (Birdman) e Julianne Moore (Still Alice). Premiato ancora J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) come migliore attore non protagonista.

Birdman si porta a casa il premio per la migliore sceneggiatura originale, mentre quello per la migliore sceneggiatura non originale è andato a Gone Girl - L'Amore Bugiardo. Premiata Milena Canonero per i costumi di The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Piccola vendetta per The LEGO Movie, inspiegabilmente escluso dalla cinquina degli Oscar, è stato premiato come miglior film d'animazione. Altre illustre, e incomprensibilmente, esclusa agli Oscar, Jessica Chastain è stata premiata con un MVP Award (Most Valuable Player), un premio appena creato che viene assegnato a quegli attori che, nell'arco di un anno, si sono distinti in modo particolare. La Chastain, apprezzata in Interstellar, A Most Violent Year, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby e Miss Julie, è stata la prima a riceverlo. Molto bello il suo discorso di ringraziamento, in cui l'attrice, nel giorno del compleanno di Martin Luther King, ha parlato delle diversità e del rispetto delle minoranze.

Ron Howard ha ricevuto il LOUIS XIII Critics’ Choice Genius Award, mentre a Kevin Costner è stato consegnato il premio alla carriera, il Lifetime Achievement Award.

Oscar 2015: ecco le nomination!

Sono appena state svelate le nomination agli Oscar 2015, qualche sorpresa e qualche illustro escluso, ma in generale, tutte candidature attese.

Non c'è un film che spicca sopra gli altri. A guidare con 9 nomination sono Birdman di Inarritu e The Grand Budapest Hotel di Wes Anderson. Segue con 8 candidature The Imitation Game, 6 per Boyhood e American Sniper, 5 per La Teoria del Tutto, Interstellar e Foxcatcher.

Incroci curiosi tra categorie. Bennett Miller si prende la nomination per la migliore regia di Foxcatcher che però rimane fuori dalla categoria dei migliori film. A contrario, Clint Eastwood e Ava DuVernay vengono esclusi dalla cinquina dei registi ma i loro film, American Sniper e Selma, rientrano fra i migliori film dell'anno.

Per quanto riguarda le categorie degli attori, qualche sorpresa la troviamo anche qui. Per la categoria migliore attore c'era ampia scelta, solo cinque posti per tante belle interpretazioni. A rimanere fuori alla fine sono stati soprattutto Ralph Fiennes (The Grand Budapest Hotel), David Oyelowo (Selma) ma soprattutto il bravissimo Jake Gyllenhaal di Nightcrawler. Per tre che rimangono fuori, due rientrano in corsa. oltre agli scontati Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game), Michael Keaton (Birdman) e Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything), nella cinquina troviamo l'inquietante Steve Carell di Foxcatcher e Bradley Cooper (American Sniper), alla sua terza nomination in tre anni.

Nella cinquina delle migliori attrici protagoniste, non ce l'hanno fatta Jennifer Aniston (Cake) e Amy Adams (Big Eyes, grazie al quale ha vinto il Golden Globe pochi giorni fa), ma la sorpresa - se così si può chiamare - porta il nome di Marion Cotillard, snobbata da Golden Globes e SAG Awards, ma nominata all'Oscar per la sua intensa interpretazione in Due Giorni, Una Notte, che però non è rientrato nella categoria dei migliori film stranieri. Per il resto, ovviamente c'è Julianne Moore (Still Alice), nominata quattro volte in carriera senza mai riuscire a vincere (incredibile ma vero). Speriamo sia l'anno buono per lei che parte come favorita.
Fra i non protagonisti, inaspettata la presenza di Robert Duvall per The Judge, ma il favorito resta J.K. Simmons per Whiplash. Per le attrici, ancora una nomination per Meryl Streep (Into the Woods) che arriva così a un numero record di 19 candidature, presente nella cinquina anche Patricia Arquette per Boyhood.

Unica presenza italiana, Milena Canonero, nominata per i costumi di The Grand Budapest Hotel. Doppia nomination per Alexandre Desplat, per le musiche di The Grand Budapest Hotel e The Imitation Game.

Non mancano gli snobbati. Totalmente ignorato A Most Violent Year, che avrebbe meritato maggiore considerazione soprattutto per le interpretazioni dei protagonisti. Snobbato incredibilmente nella categoria dei migliori film d'animazione The LEGO Movie, si prende solo la nomination per la migliore canzone "E' Meraviglioso". Solo nomination tecniche per Unbroken e Interstellar. Solo una nomination (migliore attrice) per Gone Girl di David Fincher.

La cerimonia di premiazione si svolgerà il 22 febbraio.

Golden Globes 2015: trionfo 'Boyhood' e 'Grand Budapest Hotel'

Si sono tenuti questa notte i 72esimi Golden Globe Awards, presentato ancora una volta (e purtroppo ultima) da Tina Fey e Amy Poehler.

Come sempre divertente e irriverente il loro discorso d'apertura, la Nord Corea come bersaglio principale - con tanto di finta ufficiale nordcoreana che si è fotografata con Meryl Streep -, poi battute sui film e gli attori presenti e infine le annunciate (e da qualcuno temute) battute su Bill Cosby. Tina Fey e Amy Poehler ci mancheranno il prossimo anno.

A vincere come miglior film drammatico e migliore film commedia o musical sono stati, rispettivamente, Boyhood di Richard Linklater e Grand Budapest Hotel di Wes Anderson.

Poche sorprese nei premi agli attori. Michael Keaton (Birdman) e Eddie Redmayne (La Teoria del Tutto) si portano a casa il Globo come migliori attori protagonisti in un film commedia o musical, il primo, e drammatico, il secondo. Saranno loro a contendersi l'Oscar?

Praticamente scontato il premio a una felicissima Julianne Moore come migliore attrice drama per Still Alice, da tutti data come favorita; meno scontato il globo come migliore attrice commedia o musical a Amy Adams (Big Eyes), che ha battuto la sempre temibile Meryl Streep.
I Globi d'oro come migliori attori non protagonisti sono stati consegnati alla meravigliosa Patricia Arquette di Boyhood, e a J.K. Simmons per Whiplash (ancora inedito in Italia).

Premio per la migliore regia a Richard Linklater per l'incredibile lavoro fatto con Boyhood, un film con una lavorazione durata 12 anni. Migliore sceneggiatura a Birdman. Miglior film d'animazione Dragon Trainer 2.

Premio alla carriera a George Clooney. Molto bello il suo discorso, ha attraversato diversi temi, anche politici e di stretta attualità, e ha ricordato anche Lauren Bacall e Robin Williams. E le recenti gravi vicende successe a Parigi in questi ultimi giorni hanno avuto delle ripercussioni anche ai Golden Globe. Molti attori, Helen Mirren, Clooney e la moglie Amal Alamuddin, Kathy Bates, Jared Leto e tanti altri hanno manifestato la loro vicinanza alla Francia esibendo spille o scritte "Je Suis Charlie", e durante lo show c'è stata una standing ovation per la libertà di parola.

Bafta 2015: 'Grand Budapest Hotel' domina le nomination

Annunciate oggi le nomination ai Bafta 2015, i cosiddetti "Oscar Britannici".

A dominare è il film 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' di Wes Anderson, che raccoglie 11 candidature, tra cui miglior film, regia e attore protagonista (Ralph Fiennes).

Dieci nomination per 'Birdman' di Inarritu. A seguire, con nove nomination 'La Teoria del Tutto' e 'The Imitation Game'. 'Boyhood' e 'Whiplash' raccolgono 5 nomination, 4 per 'Turner' e 'Interstellar'.

'The Imitation Game' e 'La Teoria del Tutto' si prendono una nomination sia come miglior film che come miglior film britannico.

Si nota l'assenza di 'American Sniper' e 'Selma' tra i migliori film e quella di 'A Most Violent Year', soprattutto degli attori. Da sottolineare la presenza di Jake Gyllenhaal tra gli attori protagonisti, la sua interpretazione in 'Nightcrawler' è stata presa poco in considerazione dai pronostici e invece si sta ritagliando il suo (giusto) spazio, e lo "spostamento" di Steve Carell che è protagonista in 'Foxcatcher' ma è stato nominato come non protagonista. Nella cinquina delle attrici femminili manca Jennifer Aniston ('Cake') ma le cinque nominate erano abbastanza prevedibili, con Julianne Moore grande favorita.

[Oscar 2015] Boyhood - la recensione

Boyhood è un film molto particolare, non tanto nelle tematiche affrontate, quanto nella realizzazione stessa. Boyhood è la vita di Mason Evans, del rapporto con i genitori divorziati, sua sorella e i nuovi compagni della madre, seguita per dodici anni, da quando Mason ne ha cinque fino alle soglie dell'età adulta.

Richard Linklater, regista del film, ancora una volta fa della realtà, oltre che del realismo, il suo filo conduttore, ma si spinge ancora più oltre rispetto a quanto fatto con Prima dell'Alba e i suoi sequel, riunendo il cast per dodici anni ogni anno al fine di rappresentare la crescita e l'invecchiamento reali.
Boyhood è un film che all'inizio può far paura, con le sue quasi tre ore di durata in cui non si hanno grandi avvenimenti, nessun grande dolore come nessuna speciale gioia, ma è un film di cui non si vorrebbe mai la fine, perché le gioie e i dolori sono quelli della vita, il desiderio di vedere come va a finire si trasforma nel purissimo desiderio di continuare a far parte della quotidianità di Mason e della sua famiglia, così come lo si desidera di una persona cara, un amico o un familiare.
Quando il cinema diventa uno strumento così potente diventa persino superfluo lodare la splendida fotografia, le musiche o le performance del cast (Patricia Arquette, Ethan Hawke ma soprattutto Ellar Coltrane) perché quello che si vede non è solo recitazione.

Boyhood è un film che va visto, vissuto, assaporato, un capolavoro come ve ne sono pochi altri, che parla al cuore dello spettatore come solo la vita vera sa fare.

Festival di Berlino 2014 - i vincitori

Si è chiuso oggi il 64o Festival di Berlino con un vincitore inatteso.

Tutti si aspettavano di veder vincere 'Boyhood' di Richard Linklater, film che ha avuto un ottimo riscontro di pubblico e critica, e invece a vincere l'Orso d'Oro è stato il regista cinese DiaoYinan con il suo 'Black Coal, Thin Ice', film che si è portato a casa anche il premio per il migliore attore. In Oriente anche il premio come migliore attrice andando Haru Kuroki per 'The Little House'.

Linklater si è dovuto "accontentare" dell'Orso d'Argento per la migliore regia. Il Gran Premio della Giuria è andato invece a 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' di Wes Anderson.
