Oscar 2016 - le nomination!

Sono appena state rese note le nomination agli Oscar 2016, e non manca qualche sorpresa e qualche assenza importante.

L'Academy sembra aver avuto un po' il "braccino corto", sono solo otto le pellicole candidate nella sezione miglior film. Si tratta di: The Big Short, Il Ponte delle Spie, The Martian, Brooklyn, Room, Mad Max: Fury Road, Spotlight, e The Revenant.

Impossibile non notare l'assenza di Inside Out, nominato solo tra i film d'animazione e per la sceneggiatura, e soprattutto di Carol, uno dei film più apprezzati della scorsa stagione.

Nessuna sorpresa nelle cinquine dei candidati come migliore attori e attrici protagonisti. Da segnalare la presenza di Charlotte Rampling per il film 45 Years. Nomination per il maestro Ennio Morricone, per la colonna sonora di The Hateful Eight.

Nella categoria dei migliori registi, spazio a Lenny Abrahamson (Room) e George Miller (Mad Max: Fury Road), mentre sono rimasti a bocca asciutta dei signori registi come Tarantino, Haynes, Spielberg e Ridley Scott.
Da segnalare l'assenza di Aaron Sorkin (Steve Jobs) nella categoria migliori sceneggiature, assenza curiosa visto che Sorkin ha appena vinto il Golden Globe.

SAG Awards 2016 - le nomination

Sono state rese note oggi le nomination ai Screen Actors Guild Awards 2016, i premi del sindacato degli attori. E non mancano le sorprese.

I SAG Awards sono molto indicativi in chiave Oscar, lo scorso anno, ad esempio, tutti e quattro i vincitori vennero poi premiati con l'Academy Awards.

Si fanno notare due assenze piuttosto importanti: Matt Damon (per The Martian), e Jennifer Lawrence (per Joy).
L'assenza di Matt Damon è senz'altro curiosa visto che sia il film che la sua interpretazione sono stati apprezzati da critica e pubblico, ma nella categoria degli attori protagonisti c'è sicuramente molta competizione quest'anno, tanti attori per soli cinque posti. Diverso il discorso per Jennifer Lawrence, protagonista di Joy, film che ha iniziato la campagna promozionale da poco e che quindi, al momento, è stato visto da meno membri rispetto agli altri film. Anche The Hateful Eight di Tarantino ha iniziato la promozione tardi e infatti è totalmente assente dalle nomination.

Tra le attrici protagoniste nominate, che vede come favorite Brie Larson (Room) e Cate Blanchett (Carol), spunta un nome a sorpresa, quello di Sarah Silverman, nominata per il film I Smile Back. Tra gli attori, era praticamente scontata la presenza di Leonardo DiCaprio per (The Revenant), il buon Leo se la dovrà vedere con Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs), Bryan Cranston (Trumbo), il vincitore dello scorso anno Eddie Redmayne (The Danish Girl), e Johnny Depp (Black Mass).

Uno dei titoli più caldi della stagione dei premi, Spotlight, è stato nominato come miglior cast ma fra le categorie "singole" solo Rachel McAdams si è portata a casa una nomination, snobbati Mark Ruffalo, Stanley Tucci e Michael Keaton. Stesso trattamento per The Big Short, nomination come miglior cast e solo Christian Bale nominato come migliore attore non protagonista.
Alla fine, il film ad aver ottenuto il maggior numero di nomination è Trumbo, film che non ha ricevuto critiche particolarmente positive.

Doppia nomination, tra cinema e tv, per Idris Elba, nominato come non protagonista per il film Beasts of No Nation e come migliore attore protagonista per la serie Luther.
