Festival di Cannes 2021 - la selezione ufficiale!

È stata annunciata questa mattina la selezione ufficiale dei film che saranno presentati alla 74a edizione del Festival di Cannes, che si terrà dal 6 al 17 luglio. Una edizione per la ripartenza dopo che il festival ha dovuto "saltare" il 2020 a causa della pandemia.

Tra i film in Concorso c'è un solo film italiano, già atteso tra l'altro, cioè Tre Piani di Nanni Moretti. Tra i registi in Concorso anche Paul Verhoeven, Leos Carax, Francois Ozon, Asghar Farhadi, Jacques Audiard, Wes Anderson, e Sean Penn.

Un programma un po' diverso dal solito ma non meno interessante. Pochissimi i film americani, assenti i blockbuster anche se uno ci sarà e Thierry Fremaux ha specificato che "non è Dune, non è Steven Spielberg, non è James Bond. Sarà presentato sulla spiaggia". Probabilmente si tratta di Old, nuovo horror di M. Night Shyamalan, che è ambientato proprio su una spiaggia.

Fuori Concorso anche il documentario di Todd Haynes sui Velvet Underground e il film con Matt Damon Stillwater, di Tom McCarthy.

Il film d'apertura sarà il musical Annette di Leos Carax, con Adam Driver e Marion Cotillard (Concorso).
