WGA Award 2022 - le nomination

Dopo i PGA, è il turno dei WGA Awards, il premio del sindacato degli sceneggiatori. Come tutti i premi dei sindacati, sono molto indicativi in ottica Oscar.

Sicuramente salta all'occhio l'assenza di due tra i più premiati titoli della stagione, Belfast di Kenneth Branagh (sceneggiatura originale) e Il Potere del Cane di Jane Campion (sceneggiatura adattata), ma il motivo è che non erano eleggibili per il regolamento WGA, che considera solo i film girati sottoscrivendo il regolamento della gilda. Per lo stesso motivo non sono state prese in considerazione neanche le sceneggiature di The Lost Daughter, che ha vinto al Festival di Venezia proprio il premio per la sceneggiatura, Drive My Car, uno dei film più premiati della stagione, e Madres Paralelas di Almodovar. Alcune delle sceneggiature escluse, sicuramente, le ritroveremo agli Oscar.

WGA Awards 2018 - le nomination

Sono state annunciate pochi minuti fa le nomination ai WGA Awards 2018, cioè i Writers Guild of America Award, premi assegnati dai sindacati degli sceneggiatori.

Premio piuttosto indicativo per gli Oscar, spesso chi ha vinto il WGA ha poi vinto anche l'Academy Award.

Fa piacere vedere tra i nominati un film come Logan, mentre salta sicuramente agli occhi l'assenza di Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, uno dei maggiori candidati per un posto nella cinquina per l'Oscar per la migliore sceneggiatura. Il film di Martin McDonagh, ma anche L'Ora Più Buia, The Killing of a Sacred Deer e Victoria & Abdul, non sono rientrati nelle nomination perché non eleggibili, in quanto non iscritti al sindacato del WGA. Agli Oscar andrà diversamente.

WGA 2013, le nomination per le sceneggiature

Sono state rese note in serata le nomination dei WGA, cioè il Writers Guild of America, il sindacato degli sceneggiatori d'America. Divise in tre categorie, sceneggiatura originale, non originale e per documentario.

E tornano fra i nominati dei titoli che erano stati messi un po' da parte dagli altri sindacati, film come 'The Master' di Paul Thomas Anderson e 'Moonrise Kingdom' di Wes Anderson.

Presenti due nomi caldi come 'Lincoln', 'Zero Dark Thirty', 'Argo', 'Silver Lining Playbooks' e 'Life of Pi'. Ce la fanno 'Flight'. il film di fantascienza 'Looper' e, fra le sceneggiature non originali, il film 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' ('Noi Siamo l'Infinito').
Salta all'occhio l'assenza di Quentin Tarantino che però non ha mai fatto parte del sindacato, e di 'Beasts of the Southern Wild', non eleggibile.
