SAG Awards 2021 - i vincitori

Con una breve cerimonia, sono stati assegnati nella notte tra domenica e lunedì (per noi in Italia) gli Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG), i premi del sindacato degli attori, molto indicativi in ottica Oscar, anche se quest'anno ci sono delle grosse incognite.

A vincere il premio per il miglior cast, cioè l'equivalente del miglior film, è stato Il Processo ai Chicago 7 di Aaron Sorkin. Questo premio fa risalire le quotazioni del film per gli Oscar ma, in realtà, la vittoria di Nomadland sembra ormai certa.

Per gli attori, la storia sembra segnata, con Chadwick Boseman che ha ricevuto il premio postumo come migliore attore per Ma Rainy's Black Bottom, e Daniel Kaluuya quello come migliore attore non protagonista per Judas and the Black Messiah.
Per le attrici invece la questione si fa più ingarbugliata. L'attrice coreana Youn Yuh-Yung ha ricevuto il premio come migliore attrice non protagonista per Minari, e ora, un po' a sorpresa, è la favorita per l'Oscar. Come migliore attrice protagonista è stata premiata Viola Davis per Ma Rainy's Black Bottom, nella cinquina però era assente Andra Day (The United States vs Billie Holiday), che quindi rimane la favorita per la vittoria, davanti alla Davis e alla outsider Carey Mulligan.
