Sono state annunciate le nominations della Broadcast Film Critics Association, cioè i Critics' Choice Movie Awards. La Broadcast Film Critics Association riunisce circa 270 critici statunitensi e canadesi di radio, tv e online. Cerimonia di premiazione l'11 gennaio.
A padroneggiare è 'Lincoln' di Steven Spielberg, nominato in ben 13 categorie, miglior film, attore, attrice e attore non protagonisti, regia, sceneggiatura adattata, miglior cast, fotografia, costumi, scenografia, montaggio, trucco e colonna sonora.
Risponde bene il musical 'Les Misérables' con 11 nominations, al momento uno dei favoritissimi per l'Oscar. A seguire con 10, 'Silver Linings Playbook', poi 'Life of Pi' con 9, 'The Master', 'Argo' e 'Skyfall' con 7. Il film che fino ad ora ha raccolto più premi, 'Zero Dark Thirty' di Kathryn Bigelow si difende con 5 nominations.
Da sottolineare la presenza del film indipendente 'Beasts of the Southern Wild' che si prende tre nominations tra cui quella per il miglior film. Assente l'Italia fra i migliori film stranieri, presente la Francia con due film.
In questi premi sono molto più indicative della vittoria sono le nominations, spesso vera cartina tornasole per l'Oscar.
