Top Gun: Maverick ha convinto critica e pubblica, ha incassato circa un miliardo e mezzo di dollari in tutto il mondo, riportando al cinema tanta gente dopo il periodo difficile della pandemia, e adesso si prende anche il riconoscimento di migliore film del 2022 dalla National Board of Review.

Nella lista dei dieci migliori titoli, anche Avatar: La Via dell'Acqua e il blockbuster d'azione indiano RRR.
